Dramatic soprano Susan Tsagkaris brings over three decades of international operatic and symphonic experience to her voice studio, inspiring students to discover and develop their unique vocal potential. Drawing from a career that has thrilled audiences and earned critical acclaim, Susan integrates her extensive stage experience with pedagogical expertise to deliver transformative results for her students.

Susan has performed with world-renowned conductors and vocal coaches across the USA, Europe, and Canada, with early training and performance experience rooted in the prestigious Canadian Opera Company. Her in-depth understanding of the singing voice, and knowledge of performance dynamics, allow her to create a comprehensive learning environment for students of all levels.
In her teaching, Susan prioritizes a nurturing, individualized approach tailored to the needs of each student. She emphasizes the physical and mental well-being of her students as essential components of vocal success. By integrating the emotional, physical, technical, and musical elements, Susan helps students achieve vocal freedom and a solid foundation in technique that can be applied to various styles and genres of music.

Susan’s students have gone on to perform on professional stages nationally and internationally, and many have been accepted into leading institutions such as Berklee College of Music, Memorial University, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Randolph School of Musical Theatre. Her studio welcomes a diverse range of singers, from aspiring professionals and university-bound students to adult learners seeking vocal confidence and refinement.

In 2022 Susan founded Powerhouse Opera, a company dedicated to providing Canadian singers with the opportunity to prepare and perform dramatic repertoire rarely produced in Canada. Powerhouse Opera’s inaugural opera was Strauss’s Elektra followed the next season by Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde, both received standing ovations by exuberant audiences!
Susan looks forward to producing more dramatic operas in concert.
Beyond her work with musicians, Susan also mentors professionals in other fields, helping them unlock the power of their voices for personal and professional growth. Her dedication to her students’ success and well-being ensures that every singer who enters her studio leaves with
enhanced skills, confidence, and a deep connection to their voice.
